Georgia Legislature Addressing Alzheimer’s Issues
Introduction by Jesse Petrea:
This Atlanta Journal Constitution article provides an update on the work of the Georgia Alzheimer’s and Related Dementias State Plan Task Force. The task force was created during Georgia's last legislative session and is meaningful, because it raises awareness of the tremendous impact of Alzheimer’s and dementia on our state. As we seek more efficient ways to serve individuals with Alzheimer’s and dementia, it is certain that home and community based services will prove to be among the most effective ways to serve people with dignity for less. We look forward to continuing our work to ensure that home care and assisted living continue to fulfill this most important role.
