Is this service covered by Medicare?

Home Care service is not the same as certified Home Health care, which is covered by Medicare, under a doctor’s order, and for a limited period of time. Home Care, in contrast to Home Health, provides assistance with a person's activities of daily living, such as bathing, meal preparation, homemaking, and errands.  Home Care service is covered by many payment sources other than Medicare, including long-term care insurance, Veteran's Assistance programs, Medicaid waiver programs, including SOURCE, CCSP, NOW, COMP and ICWP, and private pay.

How do I make contact with Coastal Home Care after hours or on weekends?

CHC supervisory staff is on call 24/ 7/ 365. Just call your local office number or our toll-free number, 800.617-1126. Our answering service will connect you with a supervisor.

How can I be sure the staff that you send are capable of providing care and are trustworthy?

Coastal Caregivers are carefully screened through a stringent hiring and annual assessment process.  In addition to thoroughly researching the background, work history and driving records of all our caregivers, Coastal Home Care ensures all the necessary licensing and insurance to cover accidents and ensures proper payroll processing for all employees. All Coastal Caregivers receive extensive training before working, and they receive client-specific training when needed as well as quarterly retraining. Am I obligated to a contract for services?

You are required by law to be provided a contract for services. The contract does not obligate you to anything other than paying for services you receive. You can cancel services at any time.

How are services delivered?

On an hourly or per visit basis up to 24 hours per day
Services are scheduled when you need them for as long as you need them, including nights, weekends and holidays.

How are caregivers matched with clients?

Coastal Home Care excels in matching the right caregiver with every client. Once we find the correct fit, we ensure that your caregiver is properly trained for your needs and that she has support from a nurse who oversees your care.  Back up caregivers  are always available for times when your regular caregiver  is unavailable. We take care of your caregiver so that she can take care of you!

How do we start service?

Contact one of our offices for an in-home assessment.
The Coastal Home Care nurse will meet with the client and family to create a plan of care that meets individual needs.
The initial assessment may be done while an individual is still hospitalized to ensure a smooth transition home.

Coastal Home Care has offices in Statesboro as well as in Barnesville, Brunswick, Hinesville, Savannah, St. Mary’s and Waycross, Georgia.  Each office serves rural and metro areas within a large, multi-county area.
